Activate your Pre-Paid or post-paid service
Activating your Pre-Paid or post-paid service can be done in a few simple steps. We'll ask you a quick question when you start to make sure you're on the right track.
What type of service would you like to activate today?
Pre-Paid – I recharge my service
If you own your phone outright and pay for your service before you use it, then you have a Pre-Paid service. You recharge your service before it expires.
Post-paid – I’m on a plan
If you’re on a month-to-month mobile plan or contract and pay each month for your service, or service plus phone, you have a post-paid service.
If you are activating a SIM that is for an Upfront Mobile or Data Plan, you will need to activate your SIM in the My Telstra app. Open the My Telstra app, select ‘Track my orders’, select your order and then select ‘Activate’.
